Oh My! What to Bring?

You will need to bring comfortable, casual clothes and shoes. Most of the time will be spent in the conference room, but you may wish to have a sweater, jacket, or windbreaker available. Oh, and maybe grab your umbrella! You will need to bring your own personal toilet articles and bath linens such as bath towel, hand towel and washcloth, along with a pair of shower flip flops. Do not forget your shampoo and soap!

You are asked to bring your own sleeping bag or bed linen for a full-size bed, such as sheets, pillow & pillowcase, and your favorite blanket.  Other essential items not to forget are a flashlight, the smaller the better.  Your medicine, medical items, special dietary items such as caffeine-free, low sodium drinks, etc.  Just do not forget your CPAP machine!

If you are taking any medication at a particular time, please give the containers in a Ziploc bag (marked with your name and when you need to take your meds) to a team member. The team will make sure you receive your medication at the appropriate time. Additionally, if you have any dietary needs, allergies, or concerns, please let your sponsor know so the team can accommodate you during the weekend.

The Emmaus experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity. So, to free yourself mentally as well as spiritually for this weekend, we ask that there be no interruptions, (phone calls, visits, or business matters) during this time. Should a need arise requiring your attention at home or work, your sponsor will make arrangements to contact you on the Walk. They will have the necessary phone numbers in case of an emergency and will be available to your family in case of any needs.

Pilgrims are strongly encouraged to come prepared to leave at the gate the worries of home, work, and other outside distractions. Therefore, please leave the following items with your sponsor or at home:

Cell Phones

CD Players

Smart Phones

Computers / Laptops

Game Boys

Other Electronics

Your sponsor should make arrangements for your transportation on Thursday evening. Similar arrangements will be made for your Sunday evening return home. Please check the dates again to make sure you can attend without any conflict. If for some unforeseen reason you are unable to attend, please notify your sponsor immediately.

If you know of any short, clean, funny jokes, bring them along too!
