Welcome to Show Me the Way

Greetings and Salutations Show Me the Way Community,

The 2019 Fall Walks are about to begin!  Your board of directors, lay directors, spiritual directors and support teams for the upcoming walks have been working endlessly to provide the pilgrims with a Holy Spirit filled walk.

At this time we have received 6 registrations for the men’s walk and 14 for the women’s walk.  Although the deadline has come and gone we will NEVER turn anybody away.   So, if at the last minute that name of a future pilgrim pops into your head, sign 'em up!  You can still find walk applications on our Facebook page or on our website.

It is also time to vote on new board members. ( 4 lay and 1 clergy). If you are interested in serving on the Show Me the Way Board of directors please email your name and church you attend to Larry Baker, lbaker006@centurytel.net ( that is a small L at the beginning), or Billie Benson, billiejobenson@yahoo.com

Lay Board members shall be elected by the Community for 3 year terms in three classes, each class to have 4 lay members.

Clergy Board members shall be elected by the Community for 3 year terms with at least one clergy in each class.

The ballot shall be provided to the Community members as part of the newsletter and at the Gathering that follows the Walks.  (October 26th, Kimberling City UMC) The election shall take place at this gathering.

Election is by majority vote of the ballots cast.

The entire community is invited to attend Sponsor's hour at 7:00pm on Thursday night of each walk.  The Candlelight Ceremony, for each walk, begins at 9:00pm on Saturday night.  Those who would like to serve at the banquet Saturday night please call or email Billie Benson, 417.825.7948 / billiejobenson@yahoo.com for more information.  Sunday evening at 4:30 will be the closing celebration of sending the new Emmaus saints off into their fourth day!

If you have not signed up for a prayer slot on the 72 hour prayer vigil list, please call Owen or Carol Smith, 417.324.8686 for the priviledge of joining your Emmaus family in prayers during the walks.

Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him.  ~ Luke 24:13-35
